In Mexico, you can include the neighborhood, cross streets, and customer references in your drop orders so that this information appears on the carrier's guide.
This information helps the delivery driver locate the address and reduces the risk of incidents, delays, or returns due to incomplete addresses.
If you use Releaseit or EasySell on Shopify , you must tell Dropea what each field in your form is called.
You need to configure it if:
Your store is from Shopify and operates in Mexico .
Do you use Releaseit or EasySell ?
Your form asks for a neighborhood, cross streets, or landmarks.
๐ Setup is done only once per store. If you have multiple Shopify stores in Mexico, you must set them up separately.
โ ๏ธ Important: Dropea does not automatically detect the field names in your form. If you don't configure them, this data will not be imported with orders.
In the Dropea side menu, go to Stores .
Locate your Shopify store and click on the three dots (ยทยทยท) .
Select Extra address fields .
๐ก You can also access it from the store details by clicking on the button of the same name.
In the Form , select the application you use:
Release
EasySell
โ ๏ธ You must select a form in order to save the settings.
To find the correct name for each field:
Open an order in Shopify that was placed using your form.
Look for the additional order details block.
Identify the names used to store the neighborhood, the cross streets, and the references.
โ ๏ธ Important:
Use the name that appears in the Shopify order, even if it's different from the question the customer sees.
Capital letters, lowercase letters, and spaces at the beginning or end do not affect readability.
Accents, words, and singular or plural forms must match. "Referencia " and "Referencias" are considered different names.
๐ก If you don't have any orders yet, place a test order to check how the data is saved.
For each piece of data ( Neighborhood, Between streets and References ), enter:
Field name: the name identified in the Shopify order.
Prefix (optional): The fixed text that the form adds before the customer's response. `dropea` will remove it before saving the data.
Examples:
| What appears on Shopify | Field name | Prefix |
|---|---|---|
| Colonia: Roma Norte | Cologne | Empty |
| Between streets: between Orizaba and Cรณrdoba | Between streets | Empty |
| References: Ref: blue house | References | Ref: |
In Release, that fixed text is configured as Prefix text .
๐ Leave blank any fields that your form does not require.
Click Save .
Verify that the notice "Extra saved address fields" appears.
When a new order comes in from Shopify, open it in Dropea.
Check that the address includes the requested information, without the prefixes.
โ When preparing the order, the information will be sent to the carrier:
TIUI: each piece of data will appear in its corresponding box.
QualityPost: the neighborhood will appear in its box; the cross streets and references, in the guide's comments.
| Field | Information you must enter | Maximum |
| Cologne | Neighborhood or subdivision. Example: Roma Norte | 60 characters |
| Between streets | Streets between which the address is located. Example: between Orizaba and Cรณrdoba | 100 characters |
| References | Directions to locate the address. Example: blue house with a black gate | 150 characters |
If any data exceeds the limit, the order may be rejected with the following warning:
"The neighborhood, the cross streets, or the order references exceed the permitted length."
To fix this, shorten the data in the Shopify order and resend it to Dropea.
๐ Dropea does not automatically crop this data to prevent information loss.
In Mexico, the street number and line 2 of the address allow up to 200 characters between them .
Are orders that were already in dropshipping being updated?
No. The settings only apply to orders placed after saving. If an order has already been imported, you can manually enter the data in Dropea as long as it's editable.
What happens if I switch from Releasit to EasySell or vice versa?
Go back to Extra Address Fields , select the new form, and review the field names.
Why is a piece of information missing or appearing in the wrong field?
Verify that each name is assigned to the corresponding data and matches the Shopify order. Pay special attention to accents, singular, and plural forms.
Why doesn't the "Extra Address Fields" option appear?
The option is only available for Shopify stores in the Mexican market .
What do I do if I see "You do not have permission to edit this store"?
The configuration must be done by the account that owns the store .
Should I configure it for manual orders or orders sent via API?
No. When creating a manual order and selecting Mexico, the form already displays the three fields. For orders submitted via the public API, your integration must send this data directly.
